Viewing angles not good (vertical not bad, but horizontally if you view off-centre it has a yellow tinge) Not so bad if you sit further away
Screen has an overall yellow tinge
Sound is weak, speakers on the back of the monitor so sound muffled
Sound goes off when the monitor goes into standby or if you swap inputs – not good if you are listening to internet radio while doing something else
I was slightly disappointed, but I wonder if I was expecting too much for the price. You do get a big screen, and the realestate you get is fantastic, especially coming from a 17″ CRT running at 800×600! Also I’m slightly biassed because I’m visually impaired and sit close to the screen, and the poor viewing angles are even worse when you’re up close. If your eyesight is good and you can sit further away, you won’t be disappointed.
I plan to save for a few more months and buy a smaller monitor with a superior IPS panel and use this one as a second monitor to watch DVDs.

I was doing research on a cost effective way of getting HD for my xbox 360. I was researching for monitors and I found this one. The reviews were good and setup seemed easy. I ordered one and my only concern was if there would be dead pixels or if the colors would be to bland. Both concerns vanished as i setup this monitor. All I had to do was pop the monitor into its stand and hook up my xbox 360 slim through hdmi. Then I changed the source to hdmi, upped the sound level, and changed the picture to scenery mode. After this I was ready to go. I turned my 360 and then my favorite part was changing the display on my 360 to 1080p. The picture on MW2 has never looked better!

After reading the feedback for this monitor and both Amazon and Newegg, my expectations were pretty high. Nearly everyone seems to like this monitor. The picture is excellent and I enjoy the greater size over my old monitor but I do have a couple complaints.
First, the sound is of average quality. Also, it is not very loud. With the volume turned all the way up both on the monitor and on the computer, the sound is at a comfortable volume for the documentaries I watch. It would be fine for music too if I sat right at my desk but would not be sufficient if I walked a short distance away. I ended up disconnecting the monitor’s built in speakers and hooking up my external speakers again. Too bad. I was looking forward to having one less thing on my desk.
Second, remember when manufacturers used to include complete manuals with their products? That was replaced by a quick start guide and a CD with the manual on it. I never complained about that change because most people don’t read the manual anyway so it is cheaper and better for the environment not to print it. However, ASUS has gone one step further. They don’t even provide the CD. If you want the manual, you have to go to the sight to download it. I would rather still get the CD.

This is an AMAZING monitor. I consider myself a techie and I spent nearly a month searching for the best lcd monitor that wouldn’t break the bank. This is by far one of the best purchases I’ve made in my life. If you are still looking around debating between monitors, please don’t waste anymore time. Get this one. I did the research, read and watched tons of reviews on tons of monitors and this one has exceeded my expectations, which were very high. It’s 2 ms response time is great and there is absolutely no ghosting (I’ve ran tests on it). The contrast is superb, although the blacks could be a little deeper at times, but still, they are great and I am very, very particular about good black levels. The monitor is extremely clear and it truly shines at 1080p. I’ve played multiple games on my ps3 through the hdmi port on this monitor and I can surely say that this is the best I’ve ever seen my games look, even when I compare to other lcd tv’s I’ve connected it. This monitor is so clear that I notice details in games that I had never noticed before. This monitor also has an audio out (headphone jack) port, which is not common among cheaper lcd monitors, which only have the audio in for sound from your pc (this has both), and it’s phenomenal because I can connect my sound system to the monitor and not have to deal with it’s built in speakers. I personally have not used the built in speakers, but seriously, you probably aren’t either considering that you could get a decent set of computer speakers for $10 or $20. It also has a dvi and vga port. My computer is connected through vga, and it looks extraordinary in 1080p. The screen is massive and text is extremely clear. Even the smallest text will still come out clear and readable. The colors are vibrant and pop out very well. I never knew how good games like Pixel Junk Eden could look until I purchased this monitor. Oh yeah, and for those of you worried about dead pixels (I was too), mine came with no dead pixels. I trust amazon’s policy and I’d say as long as you purchase the monitor from here, you should be fine. I’ve owned it for about a week now, and I can surely say that this was a great purchase. The only con I’ve had is that the monitor has an auto sleep feature if it doesn’t get signal from whatever you have connected for 1-2 secs, which is a very short time frame. This can get pretty annoying because sometimes I have to shut the monitor off and turn it back on to get the picture back from my ps3 because it stops displaying signal sometimes when it’s loading a game, and that makes the monitor go to sleep. But really, that happens very infrequently and this monitor starts up in less than 2 secs, which makes that much less annoying. So in conclusion, if you are looking for an lcd monitor, BUY THIS ONE NOW. The picture quality is amazing (and I am very particular about the clarity of my displays) and the monitor itself looks great as well. The stand may look like a cheap plastic in the picture, but in reality it looks great and feels more like a high quality rubbery material with a ring of gloss on it which matches the glossy finish of the monitor. The screen is matte which is great so it doesn’t reflect light and the colors are extremely vibrant and high definition picture looks beautiful on this monitor. All in all, I love this monitor and I’m sure you will too.

Shopped around for a new 24″ monitor to replace my 21.6″ that was analog (vga only). After I recieved the monitor and connected it I was very pleased. Setup was very easy going from Asus to Asus. I like the brand will will continue with them until they give me a reason not to. No problems with the shipping or product. I used 1 day shipping with Amazon Prime and got it here by 1pm the next day. Quality is flawless and it is very bright especially in a dark room. I would recommend buying this monitor over other brands simply because the price is cheaper but the quaility is not.
PS Starcraft 2 look great on this monitor with all video settings on Ultra.
